1. Saturday Night (Kemp)
Chris, in reality of course, has no idea what ‘argument’ Saturday nights are really like – but this is about just that. Saturday Nights are alright.

2. I Don’t Mind (Catterall)
Bernie’s song from back then. Sad what a broken relationship could do at the time. Now with full orchestral backing from Chris and added vocals from Mary and Fairlie.

3. Indisposed (Kemp)
One of Chris’s originals. It’s based on an actual event where the door wasn’t opened quickly enough due to the occupant being ‘otherwise occupied’ (as it were).

4. Tonight (Kemp)
Fairlie in full voice in a love song from back then. “Please can I give you my heart while the lights of the day depart” - just about sums up the idea

5. Enough’s Enough (Kemp)
Being young can be tough, and it doesn’t stop just because you get older. When you’ve just about had enough it’s neat to be able to take it out on a really upbeat song. Chris lets his hair down.

6. Lovin’ Ain’t So Bad (Catterall)
Bernie’s vocal – a love song offering the reassurance that this particular pair really are alright together after all.

7. Answer To My Prayer (Kemp)
It might sound a bit like a lullaby, but it’s really no such thing – it’s just a song about being very lucky to have the right person to share your life with – and what more could you want?

8. Dirty Water (Kemp)
This was always a pretty bitter song from Chris about being at College during the not-so-good times. One of the early Whinchat songs originally played just with a piano and two voices. Now we’ve added the full backing.

9. Baby Will that Do? (Kemp)
When you love someone, you want to be able to give them everything – but you can’t, can you? So you want to know if what you have to give will do – especially if you know you’ve given your all.

10. All I Want (Catterall)
A plaintive tale about an affair going public. Bernie and Fairlie sing the leads. The song isn’t about anyone in particular – but you’ll all know a pair that it’s relevant to. A love song that gets the full treatment.

11. She Takes My Breath Away (Kemp)
This, of course, has to be about Mary. She and Chris are still in love after all these years – and still inseparable! Aahh!

12. If (Ryan/Kemp)
Fairlie wrote the poem and sings the song. Chris set the poem to music. If you say “I love you” to someone – do they believe you?

13. Now and Then (Kemp)
A ‘Chris alone’ version of this very personal song. It’s obvious why. It actually pre-dates Whinchat and having kids – so how did he know that they’d have the boys? Spooky.

14. Asking (Kemp)
The definitive original Whinchat song. No lead vocal as such - just equal, soft harmonies and Chris on guitar. Probably the one that gives us all the most satisfaction to sing together – still a favourite.

15. Really Something (Kemp)
We all get to do a bit of be-bop behind Chris’s lead. “I know what I like, I know what I need – you’re really something”. It’s an ‘enjoy your life’ song.
