The Gamrie Blues (Kemp)

  1. When I think of the mountains
When I think of the streams and the heather
Places I will always remember now
And faces I can never forget
The places and the faces are still there now
Just a little older, I regret.

  2. Perhaps they may retain
A memory, a strain or two of me
And wonder if I’ve really grown up now
As they heard that I had done
I don’t know if I’ll ever go back there again
Even though I know that they’ve won.

M1) ‘Cos I left a little shame there
    Not so long ago
And I just can’t forget she ever happened
Even though it’s all forgiven now
At least by one, if not by all, Oh-wo-wo.

  3. Maybe I will go back
To that home away from home
To let them love me or hate me as they will
    And they will
And I may learn to love ‘em all
They’ll have to try to forgive me, yes they will
Unless there’s nothing there at all.

M2) ‘Cos I left a little girl there
    Not so long ago
And I just can’t forget she ever happened
Even though it’s all forgiven now
At least by one, if not by all, Oh-wo-wo.

  4. I got the Gamrie blues
    I got the Gamrie blues
